Whole30: Days 11 and 12 and more Sweating Pink!

Have you ever done something dramatically different, either a workout or nutrition, or any sort of personal change, and then anything that happens, you automatically attribute it to the new thing and discount everything else?

Right now, I have a few things going on and I’m automatically pointing the finger at Whole30, because I can, and not sure what else to do. Such as:

  • My workouts in the past week have been quite sub-par. Wednesday’s workout was hardly worth logging, and tonight’s was better, but I’m struggling hard.
  • My lips are extremely dry. I like my Carmex Moisture Plus Lip Balm a lot, but I usually only use it when I really need it, like less than once a week. And since yesterday morning, I’ve been using it like crazy.
  • I am HUNGRY. A typical day starts with me getting to work at 8, having a cup of Starbucks Medium House Blend, having another cup at 9, eating breakfast at 10. Today, I was hungry when I got to work, so ate at 8:15ish. I had three eggs (with a tablespoon of ghee), and a whole avocado (I know- veggie slacker). Lunch I had about 6oz or so of a crockpot chicken concoction I cooked up on Sunday (chicken, avocado, fresh basil, olive oil, and garlic), half a bag of baby carrots, and a mixed greens salad with homemade vinaigrette dressing. Not even 10 minutes after I ate my second meal, I was STARVING. I ate an apple. Nope, no change. I pushed through my workout after work and had a turkey-sweet potato “muffin”, then consumed steak, salad, and half a sweet potato. I felt full, didn’t feel like eating any more, but my belly is saying otherwise. It’s doing the “FEED ME” feeling.. please, can anyone relate??
  • We’re running the dishwasher everyday.. hehe.. that’s more of a personal rant; but it is true.
Now that I’m done complaining, I have a few exciting things upcoming!
First.. I finally got my Sweat Pink swag in the mail today:
so of course I had to change out the laces in my shoes to rock my pink ones!!

AND.. I’m totally loving my new tank! You can order your own here, or apply to be an ambassador and you’ll get some neat swag, too!

It is super comfy and my self-pic doesn’t do it too much justice, but it’s soft and breathable and check it out in action!

In addition to getting my anticipated pink gear, today was just full of fun-mail! I also got my ArmPocket band that I won from Mindy at RoadRunnerGirl. And this thing is AWESOME. I’m hoping to do a comprehensive review of it soon, but this arm band doesn’t slide off my arm, fits my iPhone perfectly, and has room for keys AND a snack! I’m pretty excited, especially to use it for my upcoming race! My last race I used a homemade armband..

More news.. I’m planning on my first VLOG tomorrow (or Friday..) to commemorate my 100th post! Please, don’t judge!

Also.. I’m going to be doing a guest post in the upcoming week on my blogging buddy, Nicole’s, blog, and she is going to contribute to mine! We’re in different fitness worlds, with me in lifting and her in running/yoga, so it will be fun to do some cross-blogging. AND.. since my audience has expanded beyond the five or so main followers and open to more people, I want to showcase the women who have made friends with the weights and get perspectives other than mine on why everyone should run out and lift something heavy. I have four awesome ladies that have volunteered so far, so hopefully this can become an ongoing effort!

And lastly, I got an amazing deal on a Groupon for some yoga classes (30 classes for $20!! Seriously. At 11 different locations, too.. no excuses), so looking forward to some guided instruction in the near future!
